How We Learn

(1) Weekly classes: each class focuses on a different topic and features interactive activities, lively discussions, and inspiring guest mentors.

Classes include:

  • Exposure to many ways of understanding the climate crisis and potential solutions including 21st-century and Indigenous frameworks

  • Space for support emotional and spiritual growth and an expansion of your care toolkit

  • Skills-building for collaboration

  • Regular invitations into living well and joyfully, and finding peace in the storm

  • Honing into a vision of the future that we want, and practicing what it feels like to live in those futures now

(2) Personal reflections: Between classes, you'll have the opportunity to engage in optional reflections & self-guided walks that focus on connecting with nature and your inner self.

(3) Collaborative Projects:
halfway through the program, you'll team up with fellow students to embark on a project-learning journey.

These projects can contribute to a climate initiative you're already a part of, focus on learning a specific skill, or become a space to cultivate healthy habits; the possibilities are limitless, and no idea is too small :)

Support for Your Projects: Your projects receive dedicated class time, mentorship from our experienced teaching team, and access to our extensive networks. Additionally, each student team can tap into a $3,600 project fund, generously provided by the Foundation for Environmental Stewardship, to bring your ideas to life.

What does it cost?

Pay what you can!

We're working on making this program free. For now, it's pay what you can, with no one turned away for lack of funds.

(& some TTC reimbursement available).

The full program cost is: $2,300 per student
We are grateful to our funders whose support has reduced the cost to: $800/student.

But it's pay what you can, and we really mean it! Whether it's $5, $1,000, or any amount that feels right for you, pay what you can.

Your contribution goes towards core costs like supplies and food when we gather in-person, and to honour our educators, Elders, and mentors.

We're also open to trades! For example, you can contribute $60 and some time as a videographer or photographer to help us document and archive this year's program. Healthy snacks could contribute to a trade, or you can offer your time by assisting with snack prep for our in-person gatherings. If there is a specific trade you'd like to offer, we welcome it. We're also happy to brainstorm and find a medium that makes sense!
